Ms. Cardiff is a native Pittsburgh resident and graduated from Allegheny College in 2003 with a major in Microbiology. She completed graduate studies in Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. In 2008 she began her career in Infection Prevention at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, an acute care facility and oncology center. From 2014 to 2018 Ms. Cardiff served as department manager in Infection Prevention. She has experience in a wide range of infectious disease issues such as measles, mumps, and tuberculosis exposures, construction, oncology issues, influenza and Covid pandemics, and Ebola. Her specialty is bacteremia and CLABSI HAIs. Ms. Cardiff joined the UPMC Mercy Hospital Infection Prevention team in 2019. She and her husband, Kris, are the proud parents to a beautiful daughter. She enjoys time with family, travel, crafting, trying new restaurants and expanding her culinary skills at home.
