Stephanie DiGiovanni, MA, BSN, RN, CIC is the Director of Infection Prevention at NYU Langone- Long Island located in Mineola, NY. Stephanie began her career at NYU Langone – Long Island in 2012 as a nurse in the department of Cardiology and went on to serve as the lead nurse on unit-based quality indicators. In 2017 she joined Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) as an Infection Preventionist, she received her Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology in 2020. In 2021, she advanced to Assistant Director of IPC , where she was responsible for management and oversight of the IPC Ambulatory program and was promoted to Director of IPC inpatient program in 2022. Stephanie serves as the chair of the CLABSI and CAUTI committees, and has been instrumental in supporting programs that reduced healthcare associated infections. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic Stephanie played a key role in COVID preparedness and response.
