Mabel Frias: Is a FMG with a Master’s in Public Health earned in 2002 from the Royal Institute of Tropical Medicine Prince Leopold of Belgium and obtained her Certification in Infection Prevention and Control from CBIC in 2015. She has been working in public health for over 20 years, many of those years in various projects sponsored by WHO, UN and other international organizations. Joined the Communicable Disease and Prevention Unit at the Cook County Department of Public Health as an epidemiologist in 2009, and is currently the unit’s Assistant Director. Mabel is an experienced public health professional. During this tabletop exercise she will share she knowledge gained from performing numerous infection control risk assessments across the County in a variety of settings including skilled nursing, long term care and acute care facilities.
