Grace (Lazzara) Barajas, MS, M(ASCP)CM, CIC, FAPIC; Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2002, a clinical microbiologist since 2003, with special focus on molecular epidemiology, bacteriology, and parasitology; including several years of leadership experience at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Chicago VA Medical Center. Masters of Science degree was attained from St. Francis University in 2011. Time was shared with Northwestern University on multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs) and nosocomial pathogen research, authored and co-authored several publications to date. Transitioned to Infection Prevention in 2014, attained Fellow of APIC in 2021 and is currently Program Director of Epidemiology & Infection Prevention at one of Chicago's leading academic medical centers, Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
