Diana Yacoub, RN, BSN, MPA, CIC, CPHQ currently works as the Director of Infection Control at Northwell Long Island Jewish Forest Hills in New York. Diana started her career as a nurse caring for sick children in the Pediatric ICU and improving life satisfaction as a nurse in plastic surgery. She has practiced Infection Prevention and Control and has been a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Greater New York chapter for the past 14 years. Diana has proudly served as the APIC Chapter 13 Secretary since 2020, and currently serves as President Elect for the 2023 calendar year. Diana’s contribution to infection prevention research includes a publication in the American Journal of Infection Control: "Successful Strategy to decrease indwelling catheter utilization rates in an academic medical intensive care unit," and posters on Infection prevention efforts to decrease hospital acquired clostridium difficile infections and synchronizing efforts to reduce MDROs. Diana is passionate about infection control and prevention and implores the opportunity to share her experiences with others. Diana earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University and her Master of Public Administration from Baruch College, Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. She has been certified in infection prevention and control (CIC) since 2013.
