Assistant Director, Infection Prevention

Talia Lefkowitz, BSN, RN, CIC, is the Assistant Director of Infection Prevention at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. In this position, Talia oversees the infection prevention program for ambulatory care and has an integral role in preventing hospital acquired infections. She began her career as a bedside nurse in labory and delivery, and uses this foundation to develop training modules on infection prevention best-practices for nurses. She has been an active APIC member since 2014, and certified in infection prevention and control since 2017. Talia educates and mentors infection preventionists, and has held leadership roles in APIC Greater NY Chapter 13, where she currently serves as chapter president.
