Rebecca Martinez, BA, BSN, RN, CIC is employed by Nebraska Medicine as an Infection Preventionist (IP) for the Nebraska Infection Control Assessment and Promotion (ICAP) program which is funded by a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grant that flows through the State of Nebraska Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) program. NE ICAP is non-regulatory with the goal to be a comprehensive resource to help support and strengthen the Nebraska infection prevention and control infrastructure. She became a registered nurse in 2009 and has since worked as an inpatient nurse, employee health nurse at an acute care hospital, public health nurse and manager for the State of Nebraska Immunization Program, and infection preventionist at an acute care hospital. For Nebraska ICAP she focuses on the acute care setting being a lead resource for infection preventionists and their facilities primarily critical access hospitals and acute care hospitals.
