Michelle Barron, MD is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Senior Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control at UCHealth. She received a B.S. from Yale University in 1992. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1996. She did her internship and residency in internal medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine from 1996-1999. From 1999-2003, Dr. Barron completed her training in infectious diseases at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She joined the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2003. Dr. Barron played an integral role in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic response for the UCHealth system. She is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Barron’s research interests are in infection prevention and control, transplant infectious diseases and HIV.
