Graduate student
Graduate School of Health Sciences, Okayama University, Japan
Kanako Fujimoto, MHS, RN, PHN, is a Certified Nurse in Infection Control (CNIC) in Japan and a doctoral student at Okayama University. She has had a 13-year career as an RN and was certified as a CNIC in 2017. Her current research interests are 1) infection prevention and control in nursing homes, 2) behavior change, 3) evidence-based practice, 4) implementation science, and 5) systematic/scoping review. APIC 2023 is her first time attending an international conference, so she is excited about everything. English is not her first language, but she happily discusses infection prevention and control research with anyone. (She has retinitis pigmentosa, which causes her to have a narrow field of vision, glare from light, and makes her prone to bumping into things around her. She may use a white cane in unfamiliar or crowded places.)
