Infection Preventionist

Jessica Alicdan is a certified Infection Preventionist (IP) at UC San Diego Health. She has a Masters of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and undergraduate degrees in Molecular Cell Biology and Biotechnology. Passionate for science, she is involved in observational research to advance the science in infection prevention. She enjoys precepting interns to provide valuable experience while inspiring the future generation of IPs. As of 2022, Jessica was elected Education Chair in San Diego and Imperial County APIC Board Chapter and President-Elect for California APIC Coordinating Council. As a recognized leader in the community, she teaches IPs to obtain their Certification Board of Infection Control (CBIC) in the CIC Preparation Course and has launched the first IP Mentorship Program in California to aspire the future generation of Infection Preventionists. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, boxing, creating art and writing children stories.
