Fabiola DeMuth, DNP, RN, CIC, CMIP, IPCO Fabiola is an Infection Prevention Nurse consultant working with adult and pediatric acute care facilities on the west coast; her work focuses on mitigation and outbreak containment of organisms, educating providers, and working collaboratively with leadership teams to improve patient outcomes by incorporating evidence-based practices into clinical care, including the use of TAP strategy and ICARs to identify and assist facilities and units with a high burden of HAIs. Fabiola received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University, her Master of Science in Nursing from Lamar University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Belmont University. Fabiola has been board certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology since 2013 and has served as a Board Member and President of the Middle TN APIC Chapter. Fabiola has successfully established and led infection prevention programs in acute and long-term care settings. She has recently spearheaded a statewide initiative to establish baseline data on Infection Prevention Practices and Carbapenemase Producing Organism (CPO) Colonization Rates in Tennessee Skilled Nursing Facility Ventilator Units. Fabiola’s contributions to reducing the risk of HAIs include supporting the reliable design of standardization of practices for environmental cleaning and disinfection in healthcare facilities. Her professional interests include mentoring new Infection Preventionist and supporting facilities to enhance their infection prevention programs.
