Infection Preventionist

Payal M. Patel, MPH is an Infection Preventionist at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated with her Master in Public Health in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology with a certificate in Hospital Infection and Prevention (CHIP) from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and is currently in the process of obtaining her Master of Health Administration from the University of Cincinnati. She is planning on acquiring her Certification in Infection Prevention & Control and Lean Six Sigma certification. Payal serves as the Infection Control representative to multiple hospital areas including High Level Disinfection, Gastrointestinal Service Line, Fetal Medicine, and Burn Program. Her current research interests include hospital wide quality improvement projects in Hand Hygiene and Transmission Based Precautions. She has been the Education Chair in her local Central Ohio APIC chapter since 2022.
