Heather Dixon, MSN, RN, CPHQ, CIC, Director, Quality and Infection Prevention at UPMC, Mercy, a 450-bed teaching hospital part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Ms. Dixon is a graduate of Franciscan University BSN program and Waynesburg University MSN program. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Infection Control (CIC).
Ms. Dixon is a member of the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) test committee and Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). Ms. Dixon is responsible for the overarching quality program of the hospital, including infection prevention, quality, safety, and regulatory programs
Throughout her tenure, Ms. Dixon has created mentoring models to bridge the transition from student to professional with schools of nursing and public health. She is a site director and course instructor for the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health Infection Prevention internship experiences in health care settings.
