Session Description: Leveraging data and information technology systems to design, analyze, and visualize quality improvement work is essential to Infection Prevention. Infection Preventionists have access to a wide variety of information and effective use of data is one of the key drivers of meaningful quality improvement. When used effectively, technology can help identify critical data elements, track progress, and craft a compelling case for intervention - all critical competencies for an Infection Preventionist.

In this session, Infection Preventionists will learn how to use data effectively across the continuum of a quality improvement project, from identification of the improvement opportunity to identifying data elements that signal effective changes. Participants can expect to leave the session with tools for tracking progress more efficiently using complex spreadsheet formulas and design features.
