Q. Why is APIC holding its annual conference in Florida?
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the APIC 2023 Annual Conference & Exposition, June 26-28, in Orlando, Florida. We have heard from some who questioned our choice of venue due to recently passed controversial state legislation. For an event as large as the APIC Annual Conference & Exposition, venue choice and contracts are negotiated several years in advance. Orlando was selected prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and the more recent legislation passed in Florida that endangers some of our country’s most vulnerable communities.

In making the decision to honor our contractual obligations to the venue and local businesses, we also considered the importance of supporting the LGBTQ+ community within the greater Orlando area. As a healthcare organization, we know the importance of inclusive care and the inequities that currently exist for marginalized communities. We are exploring service projects to help support the local community, in which conference attendees will be able to take part.

APIC 2023 will be a robust program with both in-person and virtual learning opportunities. We hope you will join us.
