This session will provide an overview of the development and implementation of the Iowa Family Leadership Training Institute. This program provides parents and caregivers of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs the opportunity to develop leadership and advocacy skills. Created in 2016 by the University of Iowa Division of Child and Community Health and Child Health Specialty Clinics, this curriculum is based on the Maternal and Child Health Leadership Competencies and Eileen Forlenza's Progression of Leadership.
