NOYA Fellowship Coordinator
New Orleans Youth Alliance
Ahmaad Lott is a digital media artist, philosopher, and youth advocate. He graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in 2012 and was selected to be part of one of the first Posse cohorts in New Orleans for Bard College. His work in youth advocacy began in 2017 with an internship at Liberty’s Kitchen through the Kellogg Foundation centered around highlighting the voices of young black men in the city of New Orleans, working to dismantle the negative stereotypes of black men portrayed in news and media. After the internship at Liberty’s Kitchen, Ahmaad joined the program and graduated, later receiving the Janet Gorence Davas Youth Achievement Award in 2019. Building his career from within the hospitality industry, he heard about the Youth Leadership Fellowship at NOYA while working at Bayona in the French Quarter and serving on the Youth Leadership Council at Liberty’s Kitchen. Through the fellowship, Ahmaad joined the team at Cafe Reconcile, where he served as a Trainer-Advocate, teaching young adults the importance of stewardship in the restaurant/hospitality industry. Currently, Ahmaad serves as the Fellowship Coordinator for the New Orleans Youth Alliance.
