Mara Deutsch has been a family partner with the North Carolina Division of Child and Family Well-Being, Whole Child Health Section for many years. Mara has collaborated with the Section on several projects including developing a Sexual Health training for families of CYSHCN, conducting focus groups for EHDI, responding to calls and emails from the statewide helpline, reviewing grants and brochures from the Section, and co-presenting the Section’s Dental Health training. The inspiration for her advocacy work is her background in Social Work and her 18 year old with hearing loss and autism.
