Susan Wood is the Project Director for the Hilopa’a Family to Family, Inc. and is a faculty for Hawaii’s MCH LEND Program. She has a son with autism and has been an advocate for many years. She serves on various councils and boards such as Hawaii’s Special Education Advisory Council and is the co-facilitator for the Community of Practice Leading by Convening process; co-chairs the North Hawaii Children’s Community Council and serves as Vice-President Parents for Public Schools.
Susan has organized workshops for professionals, parents and community members; and is a founder/organizer of Reach Camp for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders on Hawaii Island. She received her certificate in Benefits Planning Education from Cornell University and was an AMCHP Family Scholar in 2014. She is certified as an instructor for Youth Mental Health First Aid. In addition, she received Master's level training for "Team Up For Families" curriculum for Children & Youth with Special Health Needs.
