Tim Markle (MA; MA/CS) has worked for the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for over 14 years as part of the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). Currently, as Director of the Southern Regional Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (SRC CYSHCN), he oversees enhanced referral, information and support efforts; outreach; community engagement; and training, for 14 counties in southern and southwestern Wisconsin. He also serves as presenter and curriculum developer for the Wisconsin Youth Health Transition Initiative focused on integrating transition from adolscent health care into adult health care larger transition discussions (school, employment, long-term care, housing, etc). He is also Family Discipline Coordinator for the Wisconsin Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (WI LEND) program and is involved in the National LEND Family Discipline Network (LFDN). Tim is a part of the Waisman Center Community Engagement Outreach teams, including engaging with the Spanish language community and the Black community. Tim has been appointed to and is a committee chair for the University Committee on Disability, Access, and Inclusion (CDAI) as part of his role as Academic Staff. He is also founder and director of Forgiveness Factor. Tim teaches classes, workshops, seminars and speaks about forgiveness, suicide prevention, and addiction recovery in Wisconsin and nationally. He is a speaker and contributing writer for the International Forgiveness Institute. In July of 2022, Tim was presented with the inaugeral Healing Hearts Hero Award at the International Agape Love and Forgiveness Conference for “his years of commitment to helping others learn about the virtues of self-forgiveness and interpersonal forgiveness.” He also presents on various topics with Hunter, his autistic son and he has a daughter in grad school.
