Senior Program Manager, Strategic Impact
AMCHP
Nia’s work in public health began over 10 years ago as an HIV peer educator in Washington, DC. This experience inspired her to pursue Public Health Education for her undergraduate studies at North Carolina Central University. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she served as a Public Health Educator at the local health department level, and then relocated to Atlanta, GA to earn her master’s degree in Public Health at Georgia State University. While earning her MPH, she worked as a Regional Prevention Specialist at the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Disabilities where she provided training and technical assistance to youth-serving community-based organizations focusing on substance abuse and suicide prevention, and mental health promotion. At AMCHP, Nia leads our organizational storytelling and narative development efforts, which coincides with her out of work experience as a podcaster. Presently, Nia is an adjunct instructor at Morgan State University where she is also pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health.
