Reviewing Every Manuscript with Excellence and Diligence, Y’all, Too! (REMEDY II) is a skills-building session for MCH practitioners that will 1) define the peer-review process and approaches, 2) conduct interactive training/instruction via an in-session peer-review of a “real life” journal manuscript that models best practices in the conduction of peer review, and 3) provide actionable recommendations on how to improve the diversity/inclusion of peer-reviewers and within peer-review processes.
The impetus for this training is to address the shortage of peer-reviewers, particularly practitioner peer-reviewers, for MCH and other public health-related journal publications coupled with a critical shortage of peer reviewers who reflect of the diverse populations we serve who, in turn, are often subjects of many peer-reviewed publications.
