SK4 - Braiding Evidence-Based and Promising Interventions that Address ACES and IPV while Promoting Health Equity and Reducing the Influence of Implicit Bias: A Three Generation Approach
The FUTURES Without Violence home visitation curriculum, “Connected Parents Connected Kids,” highlights the evidence-based CUES intervention, along with the AMCHIP Promising Practices FAN. These approaches include frames that address equity, implicit bias, and racist practices associated with responding to IPV, while supporting providers addressing the complexities of trauma as well as strengths and resiliency. The CUES universal education approach ensures that clients receive information on the impact ACEs and IPV on health and parenting, allowing people to receive information who might not yet be able or willing to disclose that they themselves are in need. The FAN gives providers techniques to feel more present within themselves and attuned to the needs of their clients.
