When we approach our work on behalf of young people using a Positive Youth Development (PYD) lens, we create solutions & systems that actively support healthy development, and set them on a path for lifelong well-being. Participants in this session will engage in an interactive developmental timeline activity to deepen their understanding of the developmental tasks of adolescence and young adulthood, as well as on the social determinants of health that have the potential to strengthen or threaten young people’s health trajectory. Participants will come away with examples of how the principles of PYD can be applied to their daily work, and with concrete communications strategies and skills to infuse the principles of PYD across MCH domains and create youth and family-centered systems.
