Meshawn Siddiq is the new Deputy Director of the New Orleans Health Department with direct oversight of WIC, Healthy Start, Healthcare for the Homeless, and the upcoming Family Connects, a universal home visiting program for birthing families. She is a mother of 3 girls who she birthed naturally and breastfed for over 4 years including one year of tandem nursing. She's a Maternal and CHild Health researcher and advocate, Certified Lactation Counselor, doula, and HypnoBirthing Educator. She is the founder of H.E.R. Institute and Co-Founder of NOLA Baby Cafe. She's a proud HBCU graduate with a Master's in Public Health. She is deeply passionate about being a changemaker in her city, especially improving the black maternal and infant health outcomes.
