Sascha Ellington has over 15 years of experience as an epidemiologist, having worked primarily in the areas of infections during pregnancy, HIV, contraception, and emergency preparedness and response. Sascha leads the Emergency Response and Preparedness Team in CDC’s Division of Reproductive Health. Her team works to assess and build capacity of state, territorial and local health departments to address maternal and infant health needs during public health emergencies. Sascha Ellington has extensive expertise in conducting research and surveillance for at-risk populations during public health emergencies and in resource-limited settings. She has responded to Monkeypox, COVID-19, Lung Injury, Zika, and 2014 Ebola outbreak. Sascha has contributed to over 100 publications to disseminate scientific findings. Sascha completed her undergraduate degree at Florida State University, her MSPH at Emory University, and her PhD in epidemiology from the University of Georgia.
