Dr. Gipson is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY where he teaches courses in health equity & social justice, public policy, health administration, and evaluation. He received his Ph.D. in Health Promotion Sciences from The University of Oklahoma where he was also a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) fellow through MCH. His research focuses on leveraging participatory methods to improve the quality of care among patients with complex care needs and integrating health equity frameworks in care coordination. For the past several years, Dr. Gipson has led health system performance assessments and patient quality improvement evaluations for programs funded by MCH, the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, and Alzheimer’s Association. He is the Training Director of Oklahoma's Continuing Medical Education accredited courses on the healthcare transition for patients with special healthcare needs.
