Caitlynn Carr, MA, CPH, is a fifth-year PhD Candidate in Applied Anthropology and MPH Candidate focusing on Maternal and Child Health at the University of South Florida. Her research focuses primarily on intimate partner violence (IPV) service access among Indigenous women in Guatemala. She is the recipient of a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship for her project entitled, "The Political Economy of Trauma and Healing: Intimate Partner Violence Resource Acquisition among Indigenous Guatemalan Women. In addition to her dissertation research in Guatemala, Caitlynn has also contributed to a variety of public health research projects focusing on maternal and child health issues, ranging from home visiting, early childhood court, education access among teen mothers, and violence prevention. She holds a B.A. in Spanish, a B.A. in Anthropology, and an M.A. in Anthropology and is fluent in Spanish.
