Miguel Ángel Lopez MPH, RDN, LDN is currently a Tulane University PhD candidate whose research interests surround social determinants of nutrition-related outcomes, with a focus on the Latinx community and food insecurity. His efforts are focused on advancing the knowledge surrounding the United States’ observed and perceived food and nutrition environment and the social structures that perpetuate inequities among Latinx people. He has experience working on projects surveilling food assistance program tools measuring food insecurity and current structural inequities in nutrition food assistance.
