Dr. Mehmood is currently leading the Global Disaster Management, Humanitarian Relief and Homeland Security concentration at the University of South Florida, College of Public Health, Tampa, FL. Dr. Mehmood has extensive academic, technical, and professional expertise in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of health care programs. She is a trained surgeon and public health researcher with a special interest in health systems strengthening, trauma and emergency care, implementation science, and monitoring and evaluation of health care interventions. Dr. Mehmood feels very strongly about inclusion, recruitment and retention of women and gender minorities in high demand professions.
