Allyna Steinberg became active in systems change when she lost her uncle to AIDS in the early 1990s. Allyna has worked for NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene from 2003 to 2021 and since for the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development. She has played leadership roles in developing community-informed initiatives to improve access to clinical care and social services and to raise awareness of and integrate justice, equity, diversity and inclusion frameworks. Allyna also teaches mindfulness and movement as a certified Alexander Technique teacher addressing the role the body plays in healing from stress and trauma.
