Galissa Jones is the Health Equity & Community Outreach Coordinator for the Department of Health’s (PDPH) Division of Maternal, Child and Health (MCFH).She received her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a Social Science track from Temple University. Galissa is an passionate about wellness, reproductive health, and birth justice. She is a certified lactation counselor, certified wellness coach, a trained birth and post-partum doula. Her current responsibilities at PDPH are to coordinate outreach efforts for the Healthy Start Program and other programs within the division. Her other responsibilities are managing the Health Equity efforts to address health equity and promote a culture of anti-racism across the division. This is done by organizing staff trainings ,implementing strategies and cultivating conversation on special topics related to health equity and social justice. She is passionate about bridging the gap between resources and information to the communities she serves.
