Lactation Program Manager

Jessica Libove is a Cultural Anthropologist and IBCLC who serves as the Lactation Program Manager for the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH). She received her PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Rutgers University focusing on gender and spent over 10 years conducting ethnographic research in both the US and abroad. This gave her the opportunity to work among diverse and often underserved populations. She speaks both French and Spanish fluently. Jessica translated her passion for gender studies into her lactation career and has worked in various community and clinical settings as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. In her role as Lactation Program Manager, Jessica brings her clinical and teaching experience to the public health field and focuses on reducing racial disparities in breastfeeding. She manages all the lactation and infant feeding initiatives for PDPH and is also Adjunct Professor in Drexel University’s Human Lactation Program.
