Rachel de Long is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Behavior at the University at Albany School of Public Health. She is the Co-Director of the SPH Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program and Director of the Fellowship in Applied Public Health, a training program for physicians transitioning from clinical practice to public health leadership roles. Her current work centers on MCH teaching and workforce development, with special interests in social support, families, sexual and reproductive health, the role of mentoring in professional development, and translating MCH Life Course principles to policy and practice. Prior to her current roles at SPH she worked as a public health physician at the NYS Department of Health for 16 years, serving in a series of leadership roles including four years as the NYS Title V/MCH Director. She earned a MPH at UAlbany, MD at University of Wisconsin, and BS in Rural Sociology at Cornell University.
