For the past 26 years Dr. Stephen Bright has studied and helped improve Californians' health, perceived and actual well-being, and health equity. Across his civil service career he has worked to to decrease health disparities within California’s diverse population.
He currently serves as the Lead Program Consultant in the California Department of Public Health’s Perinatal Equity Initiative-a program that aims to eliminate race-based health disparities. Dr. Bright strives to successfully integrate this work by incorporating the contributions of external stakeholders and community partners-crafting policy when possible but always engaging partners to see the bigger picture.
