Ms. Ghaffar currently manages the adolescent and young adult health programming at the Washington State Department of Health, despite
originally being from the other Washington, Washington D.C, where she grew up. Her public health background includes work in HIV
prevention work in rural/frontier western Colorado, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health and health equity/cultural humility. She oversees Title V adolescent health work and the school based health center programs for the state of Washington. Additionally, Ms. Ghaffar is the Project Director for the Washington Youth Sexual Health Innovation and Impact Network and for the Personal Responsibility and Education Program (PREP).
