Senior Program Manager

Rachel Powell is a Senior Program Manager within the CDC Foundation’s Response, Crisis, and Preparedness Unit. Her team focuses on various health equity projects, including supporting a portfolio of COVID-19 vaccine confidence and outreach grant programs awarded to community based organizations across the country. She has experience working on various other emergency response efforts at CDC Foundation including Zika and hurricane responses. Rachel’s areas of interest include health communication campaign development and implementation; health equity program development and implementation; culturally responsive and equitable research and evaluation; childhood obesity and maternal and child health. Rachel has PhD in Health Promotion & Behavior from The University of Georgia and a Master in Public Health degree with a dual concentration in Maternal & Child Health and Health Education & Communication from Tulane University.
