Since November 2020, Maureen Cooney has been on staff at the American Academy of Pediatrics, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children, and the leading source of children’s health-related information for pediatricians and their patients. In her role, she manages two CDC-funded cooperative agreements focused on integrating preventive oral health services into primary care medical settings and breastfeeding support for medical trainees. Before starting at AAP, Maureen worked as a health educator with pediatric mobile clinics in Chicago after earning her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
