Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs
Nairi Kalpakian is an MPH candidate, currently studying Epidemiology & Biostatistics at Boston University's School of Public Health. Her interest in combatting maternal mortality and morbidity was the main driving force that brought her to pursue a career in public health. Since attending Boston University, she has been fortunate enough to work with Dr. Eugene Declercq as a research fellow, where she constructed an abstract using survey data from Listening to Mothers in California. During this last summer, she joined other public health students from around the country for the ten week Graduate Student Epidemiology Program offered by the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs. This experience allowed her to work with Guam's Department of Public Health and Social services, examining infant mortality on the island from 2018 to 2021.
