Dr. Ojo-Fati is the lead scientist of the Perinatal Equity Initiative (PEI) in the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Division at the CA Department of Public Health. The program strives to improve birth outcomes and reduce infant mortality for Black infants through interventions implemented at the county level that are evidence-based, evidence-informed, or reflect promising practices. He has over eight years of research and public health experience
Prior to joining State service in 2019, he worked as the Principal investigator and lead of federally and locally funded grants working with the at-risk population. His research has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Ojo-Fati earned his MD from Avalon University School of Medicine, his Master of Public Health from University of Minnesota and MBA with a concentration in Health management from Davenport University.
