Dr. Monique J. Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. She is also Faculty Affiliate with the South Carolina SmartState Center for Healthcare Quality, Rural and Minority Health Research Center and the Office for the Study of Aging. She is also Deputy Director of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Leadership, Education and Advancement in Undergraduate Pathways (LEAP) Program at the University of South Carolina. Her research uses a life course approach to study the impact of adverse childhood experiences on health outcomes and behaviors. She currently has a K01 award from the National Institute of Mental Health to study the impact of childhood sexual trauma on HIV treatment outcomes among older adults living with HIV.
