Chris Snead is a Health Scientist in the Field Support Branch (FSB), Division of Reproductive Health (DRH), NCCDPHP, at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She received her PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2005. She has worked in the reproductive health field for more than 20 years, where she has been a project officer and co-investigator on studies related to reproductive health, including emergency preparedness and response, STD prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, contraception, and female genital mutilation. She is an expert on the use of biomarkers in reproductive health settings and contraceptive clinical trials. She has publications in Contraception, Public Health Reports, Women’s Health, among others. Dr. Snead currently serves as the deputy for the EPR team (DRH), and also served on the COVID-19 response for PILOT where she was a COR and co-investigator for the team’s studies with academic partners on COVID-19 and pregnancy.
