Dr. Julia Oppenheimer, PhD, is an associate professor with joint appointments in the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is an experienced clinician and endorsed early childhood mental health specialist with expertise in developmental/behavioral assessment and evidence-based intervention for children birth to six. She also has experience working on inter- and multi-disciplinary teams and providing consultation to psychiatrists and pediatric providers on behavioral and mental health needs of children. In 2019, she was appointed as NM’s Early Childhood Mental Health Champion, working with a cohort of other such champions from states throughout the nation. She is trauma-informed and uniquely qualified to support this project as the team’s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Expert.
