This plenary will explore the maternal and child health ecosystem that grows and sustains healthy families in New Orleans in order to share opportunities, innovations, and partnerships that can be planted in other maternal and child health environments. This opening plenary will kick off the conference by exploring the panelists’ leadership journey, challenges, and successes. Each panelist will share stories about how their leadership journey is rooted in and shaped by the New Orleans community and an exploration of what draws them to this work to nurture healthy families and communities. A moderated conversation will follow, where panelists will highlight opportunities, innovations, and partnerships that can be planted in other maternal and child health environments, including local innovations in economic and community development, upstream approaches, and emergency preparedness and response.

AMCHP will be presenting the John MacQueen Lecture Award and the Excellence in State MCH Award.
