This session led by AMCHP’s Autistic Faculty will demonstrate a model for public health programs to include all voices in their work, but especially voices from the disability community and those with lived experience. The session will describe the process of creating the Autistic Faculty and how other organizations can create sustainable ways to always infuse, learn, and lead with lived experience in their work through similar co-design models.
After the session, attendees will be able to:
• Explain why it is important to have Autistic talent (and other people with lived experience) in efforts or programming related to autism (or other relevant identities or diagnoses) from the very start.
• Outline the steps you would need to take to find, approach, and compensate Autistic talent.
