This session will focus on the PRISM Policy Academy, which aims to build state policymaking capacity for state-level staff to aid in the improvement of health outcomes for women of reproductive age with mental health and substance use disorders. Centering health equity, PRISM draws from states’ priorities to help provide the tools to address those priorities and cultivate positive outcomes. This presentation will include a background on PRISM, the incorporation of the policy academy, successes, and lessons learned. Additionally, a participating state representative will discuss its involvement in the PRISM Learning Community and Policy Academy and how their state is continuing their PRISM work and strategizing to implement policy measures in their state with a health equity approach.
