Leadership roles for parents who have navigated the child welfare process are critical for advancing health equity. This is because only parents with lived experience can explain the barriers and inequities they face in accessing preventive services and supports that all P-3 families need to thrive. The National Resource Center for the Infant-Toddler Court Program is engaging and growing parent leaders to improve systems integration. Participants will hear from a parent leader and key program staff about the intentional and systematic work to support and cultivate parent leadership skills, learn how parents are collaborating to plan and carry out the program evaluation, and gain strategies applicable to any MCH program for developing parent leadership.
