The Maternal and Child Health Bureau directs the National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) and related surveys to provide national and state-level data on key measures of child health and well-being. This workshop will provide an overview of the goals of and innovations within the NSCH and its extension surveys, which include the NSCH Longitudinal Cohort Study and the Maternal and Child Health Jurisdictional Survey. Presenters will describe state oversampling within the NSCH to enable or enhance reporting for specific population groups, conditions, or localities. Two early state leaders, Oregon and Colorado, will share their experience in designing different types of oversamples and preliminary analyses to identify and address racial/ethnic, CYSHCN, and geographic inequities.
