In this session, I will detail out the background of the Saharia tribe, and show secondary research to understand how social determinants play a role in access to government schemes which has a cascading effect on health and nutrition outcomes for tribal communities. To further refine my research, I also plan to conduct primary data collection based on two villages in Morena district in Madhya Pradesh, which are predominantly tribal populated. By understanding the unique challenges the group faces in accessing quality healthcare services, I hope to map out a path for the future - on how different stakeholders such as the government and nonprofits can learn and reengineer their approach.
