Community Based Maternal and Child Health Organizations in Southern States that Aim to Reduce the Spread of COVID-19

This session will describe the impact of community-based organizations and community health centers within the Southern states that focused on providing COVID-19 education, outreach, vaccination and vaccination information to the maternal and child health populations within the African American/Non-Hispanic Black and Latino communities. It will highlight lessons learned and best practices for ways to provide outreach and education during an emergency response specifically to populations that historically mistrust the government, the medical system and physicians.
